We helped a 52-seat marketing agency dual-run both suites for nine weeks before they picked one. The test included shared client calendars, 11TB of legacy assets, and seven freelancers on @gmail addresses who needed editor access. Granting an external @gmail freelancer Editor access to a SharePoint folder forced them through three Azure B2B sign-in prompts and a 24-hour provisioning delay before files showed up. Workaround: pre-invite externals via the Entra admin panel a day before the project starts, or use a OneDrive share link with "anyone with the link" enabled. Google Drive shares to Outlook addresses worked instantly with no admin step.
