Hands-On Findings (April 2026)
I built the same 18-question event registration form in both tools — name, email, dietary restrictions, file upload for ID, conditional logic for accompanying guests, and Stripe payment for the $45 ticket. Google Forms got me to a working form in 14 minutes but could not collect payment without a third-party add-on (I ended up wiring Zapier + Stripe Checkout, which broke twice during testing). What we got wrong in our last review

Edge case that broke JotForm
A conditional logic chain with more than 6 nested rules caused JotForm's mobile preview to skip rendering the "next" button entirely on iOS Safari 17.4 — desktop was fine. Workaround: flatten conditional rules into a maximum of 4 levels and use page breaks instead of nested visibility toggles for branching paths. Google Forms' simpler conditional engine never hit this, but it also can't express the same logic without splitting into multiple sections.
