Hands-On Findings (April 2026)
I converted a 14-tab financial model with 47 cross-sheet formulas from xlsx to ods in LibreOffice 24.8 and back to Google Sheets. LibreOffice preserved 44 of 47 formulas; the three that broke all used INDIRECT() with structured references — Google Sheets imported the same workbook with all 47 intact but rewrote the formatting on 11 cells (currency to plain decimal).
