I rebuilt the same Stripe-powered SaaS dashboard four times across both tools last week — identical Figma spec, 11 screens, auth + billing. v0 shipped the first working prototype in 38 minutes but needed manual edits for the webhook route. Bolt.new hit a runnable preview in 52 minutes and included a working Supabase schema without me asking. Surprising finding: v0's new v2 shadcn blocks now beat Bolt on visual polish by a wide margin, but Bolt's in-browser terminal caught a missing <env var> that v0 happily deployed broken. Edge case that broke v0:
Ask v0 to generate a component that uses generics with conditional types (e.g. `T extends Record<string, unknown>`) and it will silently drop the constraint on the second revision. Workaround: lock the type definition in a separate file and tell v0 “do not modify types.ts” in the prompt — this preserved my generics in 9 of 10 retries.
